Comcast Employee gets fired
I ran across this little story a couple weeks ago and found it funny. It's not funny that the employee got fired. As a past Comcast Contractor (Yes Me) I know that comcast will work you to death as long as they can. Most of my days as a cable installer i normally had at least 30 installs to do between 8:00am till 6:00pm. Back then i was young and I was the Man that got the job done.

You can only keep that pace up for so long, after a couple years of running myself ragged...I had to call it quits. That's when i got into Satellite TV Installations and PrimeStar was the only game in town worth messing with.

Now Primestar is gone and I no longer do installations for customers, but i still play with the stuff here and there... I love it. I do have a site that offer information and a forum to ask questions on satellite TV.

I have DISH, but I have family with Directv and sometimes find time to experiment. I sometimes miss those days of going to peoples homes to install their cable or satellite TV Service. I only had one customer in all that time that did not like me and that was because i was late..... Imagine that, a cable TV installer that is late :)

Baby First TV
Dish Network enabled a free trial to the NEW Baby First TV Channel a week or so ago. Last week was the first time my wife, the kids and myself turned the channel on.

My 20 month old (Tyler) loves the channel, but the three month old (Riley), well she's a little young to watch. I think the best thing about this channel is the simple fact it has no commercials. Not that i dislike TV Commercials, but the ones they show on Nick and other similar channels do not have our children's best interest at heart.

Is it worth the $9.99 subscription fee? If you have an extra ten bucks and your kids are between 2 and 5...I would say YES.

If you have not already subscribed to this channel, you should at least give it a shot. If you don't like it, cancel. If you already have Satellite TV just call customer support and add this channel to your line-up. If you are interested in the BabyFirst Channel but don't have Satellite Service you can check out Dish Networks Deal here and for Direct TV go here.

If you have friends with kids and you like this channel I would hope you recommend they also get Satellite TV Service.

Real Time With Bill Maher

Friday, March 17th - This has been a great week of news to be dissected by the guests of Real Time with Bill Maher. This weeks panel includes Richard Belzer, Florida Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R) and writer Michel Mitchell. Singer Michael Stipe and anchorman Lou Dobbs join Bill by satellite.

Top on everybody's mind this week is the botched sentencing phase of "supposed" 9-11 hijacker Zacarias Moussaoui. The lead prosecutor, Carla Martin, is accused of witness tampering resulting in a significant portion of the case being thrown out.

President Bush's popularity numbers have hit an all time low...another sure topic of discussion as well as his proposed censure by Senator Russ Feingold.

Look forward the fun, the debate and the "new rules" this week on Real Time with Bill Maher only on HBO.

HBO Boxing - Saturday Night

HBO Boxing presents what could be one of the most exciting heavyweight title fights in years this Saturday night. The setting is Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City and the stars are James Toney vs. Hasim Rahman fighting for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world.

The two fighters had words at a convention in December and there is clearly no love between them. Both fighters have vowed to knock the other out. James Toney is 69-4-2 with 43 KOs while Rahman is 41-5-1 with 33 KOs.

The possibilities for a tremendous fight are there because of the fighters, but the stakes are even higher for the winner who could attempt a unification of the other three heavyweight belts with a solid victory Saturday night.

HBO is offering a free preview weekend, so anybody with cable or satellite service can see this fight. Don't miss out on what could be the most explosive fight of the year!

The Sopranos Makes its Long Awaited Return

Sopranos fans finally get to see 6th season premiere.

HBO's highly praised drama about a dysfunctional mafia family returns for what is anticipated to be its final season. Fans of the program have been waiting for years.

In an entertainment age where movies are criticized for bad story lines and gaping plot holes and television series are cancelled after just a few episodes, The Sopranos is a testament to quality story telling. What other program could go off the air for two years and have its' audience chomping at the bit for its next installment?

The anticipation of this season is not only because of its long hiatus, but because it could be the last season. The show's creator, David Chase, never thought it would be around this long and crafted the episodes to be self standing instead of a serial. As the show's popularity grew, the semi-serialization took more of a prominent role. Possibly the biggest question is going to be what happens to Tony, the family's head. Tony's character bluntly speculated in a previous episode, it's going to be either "dead, or in the 'can'."

The Soprano's popularity has many speculating it may continue past this season. Hopefully that will be the case. Tune into The Sopranos this Sunday, exclusively on HBO.

HBO new movie of the week - Saturday premiere

Saturday, March 11 - White Noise is HBO's Saturday premiere this week. Starring Michael Keaton, White Noise is about his attempt to connect to his dead wife, who departed mysteriously, through the static in cell phones and TVs. While he does make a connection to his wife, he also connects with three other dead people who have malicious intent.

I heard a personal review of this film on the radio this week that suggested it was very suspenseful and scary, but failed to find a single printed review to back up that notion. But, then again, some people think M. Night Shylaman's films suck too.

White Noise co-stars Chandra West, Ian McNeice, Deborah Unger and Sarah Strange. It runs 97 minutes and is rated PG-13.

White Noise can be seen exclusively on HBO. Contact your online Dish Network dealer to subscribe.

Real Time With Bill Maher

Friday, March 10th - This week on Real Time with Bill Maher, special guests include Pete Rose and reporter John Burns. The roundtable guests will be Gloria Steinem, actor Larry Miller and editor Ramesh Ponnuru.

Hot topics this week will probably include the abrupt resolution of the UAE port ownership. The presence of Pete Rose suggests there will be a discussion of this week's Sports Illustrated bombshell expose of Giant's slugger Barry Bonds and his alleged steroid use.

As always, this week's episode is exclusively on HBO. Contact your satellite provider to subscribe.

HBO Boxing - Saturday Night
HBO Boxing presents an exciting doubleheader Saturday night! First off is the pay-per-view replay of Fernando Vargas vs. "Sugar" Shane Mosely that was held last Saturday night. We never ruin results here, so you'll just have to watch if you didn't already see it.

The live, main event stars Miguel Cotto vs. Gianluca Branco in a light-welterweight title fight. Undefeated Cotto (25-0, 21 KO) challenges Branco (36-1-1, 19 KO) in what should be an action packed fight for the title. Branco's only loss was handed to him by decision against Arturo Gatti.

Cotto vs. Branco is being shown exclusively on HBO. Subscribe to HBO through This DISH Network site.

Showtime Boxing - Saturday Night Fight

Saturday, March 4 - Two undefeated middleweight champions square off on Showtime Saturday night for a unification bout between IBF champ Jeff "Left Hook" Lacy and WBO champ Joe Calzaghe.

Lacy (21-0, 17 KOs) is the first U.S. Sydney Olympian to secure a world title. Calzaghe (40-0, 31 KOs) has successfully defended his title an impressive 17 times and is the longest reigning world champion currently in boxing.

This should be an exciting fight with both fighter being hard hitters, and looking for a knockout of their opponent.

Lacy vs. Calzaghe is being shown exclusively on Showtime. Contact your satellite tv provider to subscribe.
